Pleural Tapping / Thoracocentesis / Intercostal Drainage

Dr. Shah performs pleural tapping (thoracocentesis) — a procedure to remove fluid from the pleural space around the lungs for both diagnosis and symptom relief.

When larger fluid collections or pneumothorax require ongoing drainage, intercostal drainage (chest tube) is placed under sterile conditions with ultrasound guidance.
